KCUR-FM

The Opportunity

KCUR 89.3 is seeking a creative journalist to set the conversational agenda for the Kansas City metro area in a unique daily talk/magazine show. This full-time producer will have their finger on the pulse of local and national culture and news, develop timely and engaging show ideas and find compelling voices in our communities beyond prominent newsmakers and experts.

The Show and Station

Central Standard is a weekday morning show covering local arts and ideas. The show, hosted by Gina Kaufmann, is built around live conversations, occasionally including callers, and often enhanced by produced elements and feature reporting. Conversations on Central Standard take an unexpected angle on the news of the day, and tap into fresh new themes related to life in the Kansas City region.  KCUR is a dynamic and rapidly-expanding news organization with a committed following in a city that’s family-friendly, fun, tech-savvy and culturally rich.

KCUR, the NPR affiliate in Kansas City, is an editorially independent community service of the University of Missouri-Kansas City.  See www.kcur.org/jobs for a link to the complete position description and information about KCUR and Kansas City.  Apply online: www.umkc.edu/jobs
