KTTS-FM 94.7 Springfield has an exciting opportunity for a part-time News Reporter/Anchor to join its team in Springfield, MO.
As the New Reporter/Anchor you will specialize in covering the news, produce daily news for radio newscasts, and produce in-depth radio features and special reports as assigned. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, high-energy reporter who is aggressive, resourceful and relentless. KTTS needs a reporter who has a sharp eye and can observe trends and note changes, and then find the voices who can tell that story on the radio and online.

Selects and research topics; contacts and interviews sources; maintains notes and audio recordings; writes and edits reports; produces and voice reports for air.
Produces news as assigned.
Reports stories in appropriate forms for broadcast.
Anchor newscasts or host programs
Screen listener phone calls.
Assist talk show hosts plan and develop program content.
Read news copy on the air and interact with on-air program hosts.
Fill in hosting news programming.
Generate story ideas, cultivate news sources, and provide editorial support.
Anchor newscasts and function as a field producer for all stories assigned.
Produce digital news content.
Other duties as assigned by manager.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in journalism or radio production
Experience in news anchoring and reporting for a broadcast or online news operation preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of local a regional issues, and depth of knowledge in beat specialty
Knowledge and adherence to high ethical standards.
Ability to work within a live broadcast environment
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Skills in on-line research, word processing, digital editing, and operation of office equipment
Detailed oriented and excellent memory recall
Ability to meet daily deadlines under pressure and multitask
Fast-paced, deadline driven
