KFEQ, the broadcast leader in news/talk in northwest Missouri, seeks a talented, energetic, reporter-broadcaster to cover news.
The person we seek must have an in-depth knowledge of news; be able to tackle complex subjects and make them easily understandable to the public, be willing to look beyond the obvious in official meetings to find the stories others might overlook, and be driven to make news come alive to the listener.
Compensation is commensurate with experience along with a competitive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k), paid vacation and Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
This position would entail general assignment reporting, including but not limited to, news conference, meetings and hearings, and assignments from the News Director. It requires clear, concise writing as well as creativity to find the story and convey it to the listener in a fresh manner.
This position requires a knack for producing audio-driven stories for broadcasts as well as video-driven stories for our various social platforms. It not only requires sharp reporting skills, but also a commanding broadcast presence to deliver newscasts throughout the day.
News reporters at KFEQ and Eagle Communications must be available to respond in times of crisis and emergency to report on events without regard to when they occur.
