WGEM-TV, the dominant #1 station and technologically advanced NBC affiliate in Quincy, Illinois, seeks a take-charge Assignment Editor.

The Assignment Editor is a key player in our Content Hub and works closely with the Executive Producer and Social Media & Digital Content Manager as part of the editorial decision-making team for our broadcast and digital platforms. This is an excellent opportunity to start a management growth track.

The Assignment Editor is responsible for research, development and assignment of news stories that offer differentiated elements for our multiple platforms. This position will also serve as a fill-in producer and requires video editing skills. We are willing to train and coach a candidate with the right attitude.

Preferred qualifications include Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications or related field. Experience with Avid iNews, Avid Media Composer, Word Press and Social News Desk is a benefit.
